BELTANE
The Beltane Fire Festival is held
every year during the night of 30th April on Calton Hill in Edinburgh.
An audience of around 15,000 people come to share the two hour
procession and wild after-events.
Justifiably famous for its intensity and colour, the event
has become a much-loved feature of the Edinburgh calendar since
it was first organised in the mid 1980s.

FESTIVAL OF POLITICS
A diverse programme of events bringing
together politics, media and the arts through performance, discussion
and debate. On their way to and from events, visitors will be
able to view one of the largest and most prestigious photographic
exhibitions - the 54th World Press Photo exhibition. Striking
images taken by the world’s leading photojournalists that
depict dramatic, life-changing events from around the world,

VIRGIN MONEY FIREWORKS
CONCERT
The Virgin
Money End Of Festival Fireworks Concert is a fantastic
evening of music performed live by the Scottish
Chamber Orchestra with a choreographed firework
display set against the stunning backdrop of Edinburgh
Castle.
The concert is the biggest annual event of its
kind in Europe, providing a spectacular finale
to the Edinburgh International Festival.
As well as a ticketed area
in Princes Street Gardens, the fireworks can
be seen from various points across the city including
Princes Street and the concert is broadcast live
on Radio Forth 97.3FM.

Over the Christmas period
Princes Street Gardens transforms into a Winter Wonderland
complete with Fairy Lights decorating the trees, Christmas
Decorations an Ice Rink and a Funfair. There is also a German
Market with quaint wooden stalls selling hot food, mulled wine,
crafts and gifts.

EDINBURGH'S HOGMANAY
PRINCES STREET GARDENS
The Scots are well known
for celebrating the New Year and where better to celebrate
than in Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, host to the biggest
party in the World.
Over 100,000 people gather in Princes Street and the Gardens
to party, watch popular bands perform at the Ross Bandstand
and of course bring in the New Year with a magnificent display
of fireworks at the stroke of midnight.
